Snow White might have been the fairest in the land, but I’m also guessing that bitch didn’t need foundation. If her alabaster skin needed some touching up, I’d tell her good frickin’ luck finding a foundation light enough for her pale complexion.
As most girls on either end of the skin tone spectrum know, foundation colors generally hover around the medium range, leaving poor ebony and ivory out of the mix. So what do you do when your skin is more fair than any foundation out there?
One word. Foundation lighteners….. Okay, two words. Foundation lighteners are exactly what they sound like. They lighten foundation. They are basically foundation but white-colored. Add a few drops to your too-dark foundation and BAM, personalized foundation pale enough for your honkey ass.
Here’s a list of the ones I know to be in existence, which makeup guru Lisa Eldredge also vlogged about here.
P.S. Most of these babies cost just as much as foundation. Be forewarned.
P.P.S. These aren’t huge sellers. So, most likely, you’re best bet of finding them will be ordering from them online directly. Ugghhhh shipping & handling costs.

Note: This is the only one I’ve tried, but I think it works pretty well. I’ve read some bad reviews, but it does the job for me. It thinned out my concealer a bit, but it was effective at lightening it and still had the same level of coverage. And at a quarter the price of some of the others… it works for me!

Retail: Their website
Those are the four that I’ve found. Comment if you’ve found any others that work!
P.P.P.S. If you’re asking yourself why there aren’t any foundation darkeners in this list, that would be because…. there really aren’t any! Once again, the beauty industry lets us down. The Body Shop has shade-adjusting drops in light and dark, but this “dark” doesn’t really look all that deep. PRODUCT OPPORTUNITY! PRODUCT OPPORTUNITY! Dear baby Jesus, how long will it take companies to realize we don’t all have medium bronze skin.
